Covid Policies for Workshops

Be Theatre Workshop Policies
Additional Covid policies have been added

In-person classes return to Be Theatre but they will come with strict guidelines to make sure we are all as safe as possible.

INSTRUCTORS

Workshop instructors will be extremely diligent about washing hands, checking the temperature of each student and maintaining proper etiquette with distance and masks.  If the teacher is not feeling well, class will be led by a substitute familiar with the material and techniques, or it will be cancelled and partially credited.  If your child is not feeling well, please do not send them to class.

MASKS
Students ages 3rd grade and up are required to wear masks to class.  We will maintain distance as much as possible when warming up and working. However, when performing or working on duet scenes with a partner, students may be closer than 6 feet.  We will continue to wear masks while performing or rehearsing with a partner.   It will be much the same as it is if they are in schools with their peers.

For solo work, students may remove masks to present their piece for the instructor and classmates as long as there is at least 10 feet between their performance space and the other  students and instructor.

SANITIZER

Students will be asked to used hand sanitizer when they arrive to class each day. We will provide sanitizer at the door.

Classrooms and shared spaces such as bathrooms and seating will be sanitized after each class.

DROP OFF AND PICK UP

For KinderTheatre*:
Bring students to the side door marked “Classroom entrance” on 2nd street.  Roberta will be meeting students inside the black box theatre. For this age group, we do not want them walking in alone.   Parents will not be allowed to sit and watch until the final class observation.  There are seats in the hallways, but we ask that you respect the social distance policies and wear a mask and keep 6 feet of distance between yourself and others. You are also welcome to wait in your car.   Students will not be allowed to leave the building by themselves without Roberta seeing a parent (or the designated pick up person) and making sure they are escorted out safely. *This is a 45 minute class.  It goes by quickly! We appreciate students being picked up on time.  Thank you!

Beginning and Intermediate Acting:
Students will enter through the side door marked “Classroom entrance” and be greeted by their instructor.  Parents will not be allowed to sit and watch until the final presentation.  There are seats in the hallways, but we ask that you respect the social distance policies and wear a mask and keep 6 feet of distance between yourself and others. Advanced Acting:
Students will enter through the side door marked “Classroom entrance” and be greeted by Caesar.  Parents are not allowed to sit and watch until the final presentation during the last class.  Students are allowed to enter and exit without a parent, but are not allowed to wait outside alone.  Those who drive are not allowed to walk to their cars alone. We are happy to walk them to their cars and are very strict about the “never walk alone” policy.

Late Pick Up:
If you’re running late to pick up your child, please text the instructor.  A student will never be left alone inside the building or outside while waiting.  Our instructors have other classes and appointments, so we appreciate everyone being picked up on time.  However, we understand sometimes things happen and we are committed to making sure a student always feels safe.

For any concerns or questions, please email Caesar at caesar@betheatre.com.
