PAYMENT
If you would like to break your payments into 2 or 3 payments, we are happy to help with a payment plan. Please do not click "Enroll" below.  Instead, email Keli@betheatre.com, or call 325-716-4125.  We have a limited number of need based partial/full scholarships available. An application including proof of salary and need will be emailed upon request. Email Keli@betheatre.com.

Description
Based on the foundations taught by the famous Groundlings and Second City, Elena and Savannah will lead this 8 week workshop in improv basics. Yes…and there are rules!  Yes… and you’ll learn a lot.  Yes… and it’ll be fun! This isn’t just for beginners, it’s also for those who have been at it for years, and need to brush up on skills. When the foundation is clearly defined, all other areas improv dramatically improve including games, as well as short/long form and musical improvisation. This class will be attended by B.A.D Improv team members who will also provide ideas, instruction and coaching as they share their own knowledge.   Also, if you’ve ever wondering "how to get involved in B.A.D,"this is the first step!

Students will develop beginner skills in vocal technique, music theory, stage presence, and expression through song. We will also cover acting basics, character development, storytelling and more! These classes are strongly music-based and incorporate children’s literature, movement, props, and games. In this class we will be putting a new twist on some nursery rhyme favorites. A performance will be given during the last week of classes to showcase the vocal talent of these young performers. Come sing and play with us!

What’s your favorite 11 o’clock number? ...Not sure what that means? This musical theatre intensive workshop aims to help students achieve their goals of successfully executing storytelling through song. Great for students wishing to gain technique and build on their foundation or for those interested in audition preparation, this class will benefit all students looking to become successful musical actors. This workshop will focus on recognizing character types, choosing music (traditional and contemporary musical theatre repertoire and rock/pop/folk music), cutting music, building a repertoire, musical journey, what to expect in the audition room, and more. Emphasis is placed on guiding the actor to select the very best material to express their unique self, culminating in building a professional audition book. At the end of this workshop, there will be a showcase in the Be Theatre Black Box. 

Required Materials: Comfortable movement attire, Three ring binder, clear plastic sleeves, and a pencil. *Sheet music will be provided.

A new program specifically designed for students like you! 

We strongly encourage our musical theatre students to take dance classes.  Dance increases mobility, coordination and strength and prepares students for stage work, especially musical theatre.
