ABOUT THE SHOW:
THE STINKY CHEESE MAN AND OTHER FAIRLY STUPID TALES
This year’s featured book is the Randolph Caldecott Medal winner, The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales. Though the characters may be familiar, each of your favorite storybook fables is uproariously and hilariously derailed in this adaptation of quintessential children's book of fractured fairy tales. Everything from "Chicken Little" to "The Gingerbread Man" gets a complete makeover.
WHAT IS THE LITERATURE ALIVE PROJECT?
The Literature Alive Project is presented in partnership with Tom Green County Library. Bringing classic children’s literature to the stage through free public performances at the Stephen’s Performing Arts Center, every child who attends the show receives a book. Over 10,000 people have attended Literature Alive in the past 8 years, with over 7,500 books given to children in the Concho Valley! This is a truly wonderful opportunity to be a part of a magical weekend as we inspire a love of reading that will last a lifetime. For this year's show, our Youth Performance Workshop will be directly involved with our staff and adult leaders to bring it to life! Whether students are interested in performance or technical crew, it's their choice. If students are interested in technical crew (set, costumes, or backstage) they will be required to attend auditions to meet the directors and dicuss their specific tech crew interest.

All potential students are required to attend auditions for this workshop, whether they are interested in cast or crew! We are looking for attentive, respectful, energetic, creative students. Part of the process of performance is the audition process! No need for any prior experience and no need to be nervous!
CAST AUDITIONS:
Students interested in working in the cast will be reading from the script and do not need to prepare anything before they arrive! Just come ready to have fun with silly characters and we may even do some improvisation games.
CREW AUDITIONS:
Students interested in technical crew (design, set, costumes, or backstage) will fill out paperwork and meet the directors to discuss their specific tech crew interest.
